On behalf of the firm, Charles Trainor presented the 19th Annual Trainor Fairbrook Humanitarian Award to Frederick Teichert of Teichert Foundation at the Broker of the Year Awards on March 20, 2014.

The purpose of this award is to recognize an individual who has given substantial amounts of their time and money to make a difference in our community and the lives of others. In conjunction with this award, Trainor Fairbrook makes a $5,000 contribution to a charity being honored at the Awards.

This year’s Award recipient, Frederick Teichert, has given back to our community in an astounding number of ways. Mr. Teichert has been a member of numerous organizations, including the Rotary Club of Sacramento, Sacramento Community Region Foundation, Policy Board to End Homelessness and the St. Hope Academy. Mr. Teichert is probably best known for his work on behalf of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sacramento. He has been a founding Board member for over 20 years and still serving on its Board today.

The Humanitarian Award contribution, was given by the firm to the Placer Breast Cancer Endowment. The Placer Breast Cancer Endowment includes breast cancer survivors and community activists committed to fully funding the Breast Cancer Endowed Chair at the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. The members are also determined to raise awareness regarding breast cancer prevention, early detection and support services available during treatment. The Endowment’s long-time goal of raising $1.5 million to fund the Chair was realized that evening.

The Broker of the Year event has become the largest annual celebration of its kind in Northern California recognizing the accomplishments of the Greater Sacramento commercial real estate community. Awards are given in six categories: apartments, industrial, investments, land, office and retail. A “Broker of the Year” is also selected.
