Are You Ready for the Overhaul of California’s Lien and Construction Laws?
Earlier this year Gary Funamura and Dan Steinberg presented four seminars on the extensive overhaul of California’s lien and construction laws. Due to the overwhelming attendance and continued inquiries, the seminar will be provided again on June 27, 2012.
Significant changes to existing laws went into effect on January 1, 2012, but the complete reorganization and revision of the California lien and construction laws adopted in 2010, will become law on July 1, 2012. If you are in the construction industry, you need to know about these important changes!
Please join Gary and Dan, for an informative seminar to prepare you for the new and forthcoming changes in the mechanic’s lien, stop notices, construction bond and related laws and recent cases affecting contractors, owners, developers, design professionals and lenders.
Topics will include:
- New notice requirements for construction documents
- New bond claim procedures
- Decreased retention amounts and shortened pay periods
- New mandatory lien waiver and lien forms
- Changes to Notice of Completion
- Changes to design professional lien law
- Recent cases
Who Should Attend:
Contractors, owners, developers, design professionals and lenders who want to be in compliance with the new laws! This will be a fast-paced presentation and familiarity with basic lien law procedures will be assumed.
